Essilor has launched the charitable Vision For Life program, whose mission will be to provide funding for projects that fight against uncorrected poor vision.
The program has received an initial commitment of 30 million euros (CAN$43 million), making it the largest global strategic giving program dedicated to eliminating poor vision.
Vision For Life will fund initiatives such as vision care actions, vision centres and skills development in areas without access to primary eye care, and public awareness campaigns stressing the importance of good vision.
Vision For Life will be administered by the Essilor Social Impact Fund, a non-profit organization, in the United States and the Essilor Social Impact fonds de dotation (endowment fund) in France.
