Calgary, AB – FYidoctors announced that it will assist Fort McMurray fire victims by replacing the eyewear of residents who left eyewear behind in order to immediately evacuate the city. Dr. Alan Ulsifer, Chairman & CEO of FYidoctors, said that any resident who left glasses behind will receive a replacement pair of glasses free of charge, and contact lens patients will receive two trial sets of temporary contact lenses if they left the city without their contacts.
In addition, Dr. Ulsifer said that FYidoctors will provide specialty drops, donated by Candorvision, for any victims whose eyes might have been negatively affected by smoke from the fire.
This offer is valid at all 185 FYidoctors locations across Canada. In order to receive assistance, patients are encouraged to visit fyidoctors.com and find the nearest location to them. Proof of residency or employment in Fort McMurray is required.
“FYidoctors’ thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Fort McMurray,” said Dr. Ulsifer. “This is a significant and heartbreaking tragedy and our doctors and staff want to do as much as we can for the victims. Canadians have rallied behind the people of Fort McMurray, and helping victims regain the gift of better sight is the very least we can do to assist in this cause.”
“We’ve already seen many patients across the country come to our locations having left behind these necessities, and many are very appreciative when our staff tells them their glasses are free of charge,” said Dr. Ulsifer. “FYidoctors puts patients first every day, and we are very proud to lead this initiative.”
