Jessie Strype, Optik magazine’s contributor, spoke with Albert Mo, from McCray Optical. He talks about the history of the McCray name and where they stand today. Albert tells us about the company and the magic tricks he gets called upon to deliver.
McCray’s list of services/products has grown over the years. When McCray first started, they had some screws and nose pads and a few tools bought from the United States. From their 200 square-foot basement HQ nearly 40 years ago, they now have over 9,000 SKUs of product within an 18,000 square-foot facility servicing independents and chain stores alike across North America, Africa, Europe and South America.
The most common modification Albert does is nose pad implants for narrow bridges. He also explains in detail one repair that he is particularly proud of which was to make a temple hinge from scratch.
Optik also asked Albert what changes he foresees in the industry and how that applies to the future of McCray. Read on to find out!
