Canadian Women ODs Honoured at American Academy

Pioneering women of vision were awarded the inaugural Theia Awards at the American Academy of Optometry annual meeting Nov. 10th in Anaheim, California. Among the recipients are Drs. Barbara Pelletier, OD, and Laurie Capogna, OD.
The Theia awards, named after the Greek Goddess of Vision or Sight, is made to women on the basis of leadership, mentoring and innovation. Pelletier and Capogna are the authors of the EyeFoods series of books that bring knowledge of foods that promote eye health.
In total six women were Theia award winners, among more than 160 nominated.
