VuePoint IDS is pleased to announce the release of the first annual Canadian Wholesale Optical Lab brand perception study. The internet study of Canadian ECPs provides insights on all major national labs (including Essilor, HOYA, ZEISS, Nikon) specialty labs such as Maui Jim, Oakley and COS, as well as “independent labs” with a national and regional footprint. This is the first study of Canadian Optical labs and will provide a valuable benchmark for monitoring the market which has and will continue to see significant structural changes ahead.
“By looking at three categories of optical labs, we get a very good snapshot of the current situation in Canada”, said David Pietrobon, President of VuePoint IDS Inc. “The results will help companies with competitive positioning, identifying required adjustments in priorities and determining opportunities to better serve clients’ needs.”
The study also identifies Net Promoter Score® (NPS®) for the leading labs in the Canadian market The Net Promoter Score is an index ranging from -100 to +100 that measures the willingness of customers to recommend a company’s products or services to others. NPS is a time-tested and well accepted proxy for gauging the customer’s overall satisfaction with a company’s product or service and the customer’s loyalty to the brand.
In addition, respondents provided a picture of the attribute importance for labs by indicating which of twelve attributes are most and least important and rated all of the labs with which they had first-hand experience and not just their perceptions of labs they have heard of.
In addition to specific feed back for companies and a profile of their competitors, the survey collected general information from the market including such as the number of labs used by ECPs on average, and a national and regional profile of the extent to which ECPs use in-house edging.
Companies competing within the Canadian market and/or evaluating the market for entry will find considerable value in the results.
