CRO Live Event: The Optometrists Role in Protecting Patients from the Dangers of UV and HEVL
April 23, 2019 @ 3:45 pm - 6:00 pm
$90While the human eye is a marvel of evolution, the manner in which our eyes are used in our modern digital age has changed dramatically in the last few decades. The subject of Ultraviolet (UV) radiation and human response to High Energy Visible Light (HEVL) – also referred to as “blue light” – is widely mentioned in consumer media and debated in scientific and academic circles.
In response to the increasingly recognized adverse affects of both UV and HEVL in the digital age, the optical industry has created various solutions to reduce patients’ risk.
This program provides a review of the impact of UV radiation and HEVL and brings awareness to the impact on the visual system and overall human health. Various product solutions and patient communications strategies can be deployed to help primary eye care practitioners answer patients’ question. This course will help primary eye care practitioners educate and inform patients and choose appropriate strategies.
