CRO (Clinical & Refractive Optometry) Journal Welcomes New Members to Editorial Team

CRO (Clinical & Refractive Optometry) Journal Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Justin Kwan, OD, FAAO, is pleased to announce the appointment of four new members to the Editorial Board, including Ruth A. Hyatt, OD, Kristine Huang, OD, Stephanie Ramdass, OD, and Andrew Rixon, OD.
The new members bring a breadth of diverse backgrounds and clinical experiences to complement the existing editorial team and are consistent with CRO Journal’s policy of diversifying the editorial board to reflect the changing demographics of the optometric profession and the emergence of digital technology for the delivery of clinical education.
New Appointees
Ruth A. Hyatt, OD, FAAO, Diplomate
Dr. Hyatt is currently the Primary Care Residency Director of the William V. Chappell, Jr. Veterans Affairs Multispecialty Clinic in Daytona Beach, FL.She is a graduate of Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (AAO).
She became a Diplomate in Public Health and Environmental Vision in 2018. Dr. Hyatt is an active member of the Armed Forces Optometric Society and is a consultant for the Accreditation Council of Optometric Education.
Kristine Huang OD, MPH, FAAO
Dr. Huang is an Associate Professor at the Southern California College of Optometry (SCCO) at Marshall B. Ketchum University where she teaches optometric interns in the Pediatric and Vision Therapy Services. She also works with residents in the Acquired Brian Injury Service.
Dr. Huang is a Fellow of the AAO, a member of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD) and the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association, and Clinical Director for the Special Olympics Southern California Opening Eyes.
Stephanie Ramdass. OD, MS, MBA, FAAO
Dr. Ramdass is currently in private practice at North Toronto Medical Optometry & Vision Care Centre, Toronto, ON and an Adjunct Faculty member of Ferris State University, Michigan College of Optometry (MCO).
She is a 2013 graduate of the Inter American University of Puerto Rico School of Optometry. Upon graduation she completed a Cornea and Contact Lens residency at MCO. She is a committee member of the International Myopia Institute.
Andrew Rixon, OD, FAAO
Dr. Rixon is the Residency Coordinator and an attending Optometrist at the Memphis VA Medical Center, Memphis TN. He is a graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and consulting faculty member at Southern College of Optometry.
He is a Fellow of the AAO, on the executive committee of AAO’s Glaucoma section, and a member of the Optometric Glaucoma Society. Dr. Rixon is currently pursuing his diplomate in Glaucoma.
The appointments are effective August 2019. CRO Board appointments are for a three-year period.
