Zeiss Meditec Revenues Pass €1 Billion

Zeiss reports that revenue from their medical technology unit is up 14% for the fiscal year 2014/15, for a total revenue of $1.6 billion Canadian. All business units and regions saw an increase in revenue. Due mainly to increased demand for intraocular lenses and consumables for cataract surgery, the biggest area of growth was in surgical ophthalmology, which saw 19.0% growth from the previous year, after adjusting for currency effects. Microsurgery and ophthalmic systems also saw modest growth. Growth was highest in the Asia/Pacific region, with 10.1% growth compared to the previous year.

“We are satisfied with the results for the fiscal year. In spite of a difficult market environment, we once again succeeded in winning market shares in a number of markets,” says Ludwin Monz, President and CEO of Carl Zeiss Meditec.
